Ms Maree Ringland |
Ms Maree Ringland commenced as Australia’s Consul-General in Guangzhou in March 2026. She is a senior career official with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. She most recently served as Australia's Ambassador to Peru and Bolivia (2022-2025). She has previously served overseas as Counsellor (2016-2020) and Second Secretary (2000-2004), Australian Embassy Beijing; and Deputy Head of Mission, Australian Embassy, Santiago de Chile (2009-2012).
Ms Ringland holds a Master of International Relations from Monash University (1997); and a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Laws from the Australian National University (1995). Ms Ringland speaks Spanish, Mandarin and Japanese.

Consular & Passports Section:
Appointments are required for passport and notarial services.
Appointments can be booked via https://acggz.setmore.com/.
- Passport appointments are available Monday to Friday 9:00 am - 12:00 pm.
- The following Notarial services appointments are available between 3pm - 4pm, Monday to Friday.
- Witnessing Commonwealth statutory declarations
- Witnessing application forms for, and issuing of, Certificates of No Impediment (CNI)
- Witnessing notices of intended marriage
- Witnessing and certifying land documents and issuance of DFAT Certificate of Identity
- Performing authentication of signature and/or seals
- Other Notarial services (including witnessing affidavits, witness signatures on bank documents and state government documents including witnessing driver's licence renewals) appointments are available between 1:30pm – 4pm every Thursday (except Public Holidays).
